Cranky Morning -> Succesful Day

Both my daughter and I woke up super cranky today, so I knew from the start our homeschooling wasn't going to happen. I chose an easy target to guide my frustration to - my husband! First, I picked on him for leaving something in the sink. He cleaned it up. Then I picked on for not sealing a bag of croutons well enough and when I reached for something in the cupboard croutons got all spilled and created a mess (crumbs were everywhere!), that's where my husband got agitated and told me to let's go ahead and have a fight to get it out of my system :)

Well, just getting him agitated and hearing him say the truth already calmed me down :) I apologized and we moved on with our day.

Instead of homeschooling we decided to bake cupcakes!  We used a box, of course, and added pudding in to make it super moist and fluffy.

We also made cream cheese frosting with powdered sugar! It was yum!

Then we went to a homeschooling group's get together and had a great time. On the way I tried doing mental math with my daughter, but she wasn't in the mood at all. I had to apologize (second time today) for not being patient enough.

After naps we decided to visit Ms. K in the hospital. I saw this post on a homeschooling group's page that she was in a very bad car accident and was in the hospital for months. I have never met her before (or anyone else from that group), but we decided to go anyway.

I am so glad we went! Ms. K is such a kind, friendly, and easy to talk to person. We stayed there for about an hour and a half! Had a great chat with Ms. K's nurse as well :) It was most socialization I've done in a long time :)

I look at my day now and just amazed how it started so gloomy and finished so nicely. We had laughs with the kids, met some new friends, had an amazing dinner (thanks to Costco :), and watched a nice movie with my husband after kids went off to sleep - Mom's Night Out.

It turned out to be a successful day!
